The Private Career Colleges Division administers the Private Career Colleges Act. Colleges offering occupational training are required to be registered in accordance with the Private Career Colleges Act unless exempted through the Act and/or Regulations.
Schools currently registered offer skills training for adults in a wide range of fields including massage therapy, truck driving, information technology, esthetics, multimedia, and business education.
Changes in our economy and rapid advances in technology have created a new world of work. It is important that Nova Scotians have access to training opportunities that respond to labour market needs and lead to employment. Private Career Colleges must be responsive to needs of business and industry, and establish education, training and employment partnerships for their students.
